About
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at Mount Allison University, where I am working on a project about body morality - the idea that our bodies say something about who we are. In 2012-2013 I will be teaching an advanced topics seminar (CANA 4611) on gender, health and physical fitness in Canada, and Canadian Women: Critical Perspectives (CANA 3301).
I hold a PhD in History from York University.
My academic research considers how concepts of health and well-being are mobilized in social and cultural settings. I am particularly interested in the way people talk about and understand their bodies, and the relationship between health practices and the historical context in which they are undertaken.
